       Mole day is unofficial holy day Celebrated by chemists annually from 6.02 am to 6.02 pm on October 23rd, Mole Day commemorates Avogadro’s number (6.022 x 1023), which is the number of atoms in exactly 12 grams of carbon-12 (one mole). 
This was founded by the National Mole Day Foundation on 15th May 1991.You may be thinking that this day is in honor of the little burrowing creature. However, it is not.  
This celebration takes place between 6:02 AM and 6:02 PM, making the date 6:02 10/23 in the American style of writing dates. 
The time and date are derived from Avogadro’s number, which is approximately 6.02×10^23, defining the number of particles (atoms or molecules) in one mole of substance, one of the seven base SI units.
  This number is dimensionless and named after Italian scientist Amedeo Avogadro.The National Mole Day Foundation founded in 1991 celebrates the day every year with a theme. Some of the recent themes include Molar Eclipse in 2012, Mole of the Caribbean in 2010, and Molar Express in 2009.

  • Avogadro’s number is a historical term closely related to the Avogadro constant.
  • The Avogadro constant is named after the early 19th-century Italian scientist Amedeo Avogadro.
 History
       National Mole Day originated in the early 1980s in an article from The Science Teacher.  Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin  High School chemistry teacher, was inspired by the article and founded the National Mole Day Foundation on May 15, 1991

  *Get your geek on for this day. Wear a mole t-shirt and when someone asks you about it,explain the concept of mole to them.
  *Have a mole-themed party and serve guaca"mole" and wear mole (the animal)  costumes.
